Alaska Transport has been in the transportation industry since 1998.  Our founder, Robert Daugherty, began as a customer service coordinator and freight forwarder for a Graebel Movers International, an International moving company based in Seattle, WA.  He worked there for 8 years in the Alaska Division and became an expert in the relocation of household goods and automobiles to and from the state of Alaska.  In 1998, he graduated from Washington State University with a BA in business and decided to begin his own company.  Alaska Transport was created.  Alaska Transport is based in Seattle, WA.  We also have various partners within the moving and auto transportation industry in AK, the lower 48 states, and overseas.  Alaska Transport has grown substantially since 1998 and relocates an average of 600 corporate employees/individuals on an annual basis to and from the state of Alaska.  Annual revenues for Alaska Transport exceed $1 million on an annual basis.

AK Transport handled the relocation of my household goods shipment from Houston, TX to Anchorage, AK during the summer of 1999. My family & I were completely stressed out about moving to AK and AK Transport’s customer service team excelled in every way imaginable to ensure that as much burden and stress was removed from our shoulders as possible. The company packed up our stuff in a week, transported our stuff up to AK in a steamship container, and we took delivery of our shipment approximately a month later. Everything was delivered to our new home in Anchorage and nothing was damaged or came up missing. AK Transport did an excellent job in the relocation of our auto from Putney, VT to Anchorage, AK. I was really afraid that my 1969 Chevy Corvette was going to get damaged during transit. It’s a show car and I made sure the company was well aware of that so that they could take extra precaution in shipping it. But AK Transport took the bull by the horns and transported my car up to AK with no problems whatsoever. After conducting a thorough inspection on my auto at destination, I discovered that there were no new scratches or dents on it. I’m very happy with their services and hope to utilize them in the future if I ever need to again.
